Abstract. Nowadays the fire protection of multi-storey buildings has many issues. The number of facilities, in which many people can stay, tower-type facilities, business centres grew rapidly over the past few decades. Along with these specific issues, such as the protection of the accumulated mass of people, hasn’t been developed at this rate. When fire alarm systems give alarm signal, this much people get caught in the corridor. The evacuation schedule can be slow down, or – in worse case – a lot people die. In my dissertation I’m looking for the options for these questions. I examine sound- and light sensors (so-called phased evacuation), and security elevators. For this I run simulations and I compare my results, in which I use safety improvement, with available data.
